How to Protect Yourself!

Preventing Auto Crime is often a matter of simple common sense!

Make your vehicle as unappealing a target as possible to decrease your risk of becoming a victim of auto crime.

~ Close your windows and lock your doors
~ Put your possessions out of sight BEFORE arriving at your destination and leave what you can at home or at the hotel
~ Take all you possessions with you on hikes
~ Park in well lit areas near pedestrian traffic
~ Keep you spare key with you, in your wallet - not in your car
~ Invest in a good anti-theft device
~ Engrave your stereo and other on-board valuables with your driver's license number
~ Even loose change on you dash or something that appears to be "covered up" can encourage a break in!
~ Be observant of your surroundings

If you see a suspicious activity tell the Park Watch Patroller and call the Sooke RCMP
If you think it is an emergency dial 911 and report it, but if it is not an emergency call the RCMP at 250 642-5241
